Liu receives national professional achievement award

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has honored Virginia Tech Chemical Engineering Professor Y.A. Liu with its 2021 Professional Achievement Award for Innovations in Green Process Engineering.

It “recognizes an individual's outstanding professional achievement in advancing the Innovations in Green Process Engineering for Sustainable Energy and Environment, and his orher distinguished contribution as a professional engineer, chemist, industrial leader, or educator,” according to AIChE.

Liu was recognized for his “contributions to the reduction of water use and wastewater discharge in chemical processes and reduction of energy consumption in CO₂ capture processes.”
