Zach Benmamoun

Benmamoun is a second-year doctoral student and Graduate Student Association (CheGSA) member. He is one of two Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Graduate representatives serving on the diversity committee, where he said he hopes his work will help further diversify the department's student body, faculty, and staff.

He received his bachelor's of science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is doing research in the lab of Professor William Ducker, where he studies interactions between bacteria and various surfaces, such as polymers and antimicrobials, with the goal of understanding these interactions to design better antimicrobials.
